My (two) latest: on communion wine and a new epistolary novel, in CT

In the last two weeks I’ve had two articles go up at Christianity Today. The first is called “Jesus Did Not Serve Grape Juice.” It’s an argument that evangelical and other low-church traditions should serve fermented wine in the Lord’s Supper rather than Welch’s grape juice. Thankfully, as I learned from my inbox afterward, everyone is already in perfect agreement about this, so the argument was probably superfluous.

The second piece went up this morning. It’s titled “This ‘Screwtape for Our Times’ Will Challenge and Confound You.” It’s a review of Ross McCullough’s new book The Body of This Death: Letters from the Last Archbishop of Lancaster. I call it “the best new book you’ll read this year” and “an instant classic of Christian spiritual writing that deserves a wide audience.” It was published today, so order your copy now!
